4-Week Beginner Wheel Throwing Course Perfect for beginners or those looking to refresh their skills Ready to dive into the world of wheel throwing? This four-week course is designed to give you a solid foundation in the art of throwing clay on the potter’s wheel. Whether you're brand new to pottery or returning after a break, this course will build your confidence and skills in a relaxed, supportive studio setting. What to Expect: Weeks 1 & 2 – *Throwing Basics Watch a live demo and learn the core techniques of centering and pulling consistent walls. Get plenty of hands-on time at the wheel to practise throwing basic forms with guidance from an experienced tutor. Week 3 – Trimming & Surface Decoration Learn how to trim and tidy your pots, carve in texture, and add features like handles. Experiment with surface decoration techniques to personalise your work. Week 4 – Glazing Techniques Get an introduction to underglazes, oxides, and our house dipping glazes. Apply finishing touches to your pots, readying them for the kiln. All materials are included. Your finished pieces will be fired and ready for collection 2–3 weeks after the final session.
