Four-Week Beginner Throwing Course: Make Your Own Dinner Set Perfect for students who have completed one of our taster sessions or beginner courses, this four-week class will guide you through the full process of throwing and finishing your very own handcrafted dinner set. Learn new skills, build confidence on the wheel, and create a beautiful, functional set to use and treasure at home. What to Expect Week One – Mugs & Soup Bowls Begin by centring clay on the wheel and forming simple, functional shapes. We’ll focus on throwing mugs and soup bowls, exploring form, balance, and consistency. Week Two – Pasta Bowls & Plates Progress to wider forms as you learn to throw pasta bowls and plates. You’ll be supported in refining your technique and creating pieces that feel cohesive as a set. Week Three – Trimming & Decorating Once your pieces have firmed up, you’ll trim, refine, and decorate them. Add texture, surface details, or design elements that reflect your personal style. Week Four – Glazing In our final week, you’ll glaze your dinner set using oxides, underglazes, and our house dipping glazes. We’ll guide you through choosing finishes that complement your shapes and bring your set together. Your pots will then be fired in our kiln and ready for collection 2–3 weeks after the course finishes.
